5-Minute Avocado Toast Upgrade (Made with Fresh Hass Avocados)
There’s avocado toast.
And then there’s avocado toast made with a perfectly ripe Hass avocado.
The difference? Creaminess. Depth. Texture.
If you’ve recently ordered avocados from us — or are planning to — here’s the easiest way to use them.
Why Hass Avocados?
Hass avocados have:
- Rich, buttery texture
- Slight nutty flavour
- Thick skin that protects freshness
- Ideal consistency for smashing
When ripened correctly, they don’t turn watery or stringy.
Ingredients (Serves 1)
- 1 slice sourdough bread
- 1 ripe Hass avocado
- A handful of fresh microgreens
- 1–2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Pepper or chilli flakes (optional)
Step 1: Check Ripeness
Gently press the avocado.
It should yield slightly but not feel mushy.
If firm: leave at room temperature 1–2 days.
If ripe: refrigerate to slow further ripening.
Step 2: Mash with Texture
Cut, scoop, and lightly mash with a fork.
Don’t overdo it. Small chunks make it feel more satisfying.
Add lemon and salt. Mix gently.
Step 3: Build It
Toast your bread until golden.
Spread avocado generously.
Top with microgreens.
Optional:
- Olive oil drizzle
- Chilli flakes
- Cracked pepper
Done in under 5 minutes.
Storage Tips for Avocados
To make them last longer:
- Keep unripe avocados at room temperature.
- Once ripe, refrigerate.
- After cutting, add lemon and store airtight.
Handled well, good avocados don’t go to waste.
